Jeff Huffman, owner
Many of you know Jeff since he comes into your home. But here's some background on Jeff that you may not know. Jeff grew up in Quinter, Kansas. This is a very small town in western Kansas located about a hundred miles east of the Kansas/Colorado border on I-70. Jeff has always been fascinated with electronics. He started tinkering with car stereos during his junior high/high school years. Often he experimented with his parents' and siblings' vehicles, then moved on to friends' vehicles when he became more skilled. During high school he helped design and produce a line of home theater speakers for his parents' company.
Jeff worked for a few Car Audio and Home Audio Video Stores in Colby, Hays, and Lawrence Kansas before starting Jeff's Audio Video. He is very talented and truly loves the audio video field.
Jeff's parents taught him to be a fair, generous and kind person, especially in business matters. Jeff strives to provide the best quality workmanship at a good rate. He also makes sure that the client is well taken care of. He also greatly appreciates being fed by so many of you.
When not devoting his time to Jeff's Audio Video, Jeff can be found fishing in his lovingly restored bass boat.
He is a proud father of two amazing sons, who are growing up so quickly. His is a loving and devoted husband to his wife, Shawna.
Shawna Huffman, office manager
Shawna is in the office, answering your calls. She schedules appointments, keeps track of the finances, and corresponds with clients and other businesses. She pretty much does everything except sales, installation and system design, although she did help Jeff on a job during the summer of 2000.
In her former career, she was a 6th grade teacher in Lawrence and loved it, but Jeff's business needed her to run the office full time. So she resigned her teaching position and has devoted most of her time to running the business side of Jeff's Audio Video.
As far as her personal life, she grew up in Emporia, Kansas. She ran cross country and track throughout high school; and although she was pretty good, she declined athletic scholarships because she wanted to devote her college effort to academics. She graduated (with a pretty darn good GPA) from the University of Kansas with a BSE degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Special Education.
Her running ability paid off when she was an Olympic Torch Carrier for the 1996 Atlanta Summer Olympics. Her stretch of the route was in Lawrence. This is also the Olympic Games Jeff's brother competed in the Men's Pole Vault.
While at KU she was set up on a blind date with Jeff and they have been together ever since. Married in July 1999, Jeff and Shawna are the proud parents of two sons. Shawna is fiercely committed to being an excellent mother and wife.
She greatly enjoys working for Jeff's Audio Video and feels very fortunate you all have welcomed them into your homes.
